Right handle stopped working on Z4 #1.  First occurance was when I had a long passenger train sitting in the passenger station drawing current from Z4 # 1 right handle.  I drove a 2nd long passenger train onto that mainline (from a second mainline controled by a second Z4) and VOLT's dropped to zero).

I powered down the Z4.  Let it sit for 30 mins.  Powered back up and the second handle was working (Note:  I had toggled off current to the siding holding the first passenger train...  so just one passenger train).

Then toggled off current to both tracks/passenger trains...  but left the Z4 powered on.  40 mins later I went to use and 2nd handle would not work. Again I powered down, waited 30 mins and powered up and it works.

Hi Rick,

I just drove back to Vermont from my place over near Alexandria Bay.  Took rte 37 through Ogdensburg and Massena, but other times I come 11 through Canton Potsdam and Malone - the Star of the North.

You're pretty much in RWORR territory - the old Rome Watertown and Ogdensburg that served the north country and eventually became part of New York Central.

Good luck with your Z4K, they're great power packs.

Hi Hojack,

Intersting stuff...  thanks...

If you take 11B instead of 11 from Potsdam to Malone you would go by my house.

My barber in Norfolk (between Potsdam and Massena) knows a lot of local RR history.  He gave me directions and I went and looked were the extensive rail yards and turntable use to be.   Moneys have been allocated to resurrect some of the old lines..  I'm pretty sure from Ogdensburg...   also lot's of ods photo's on the wall in his barber shop.... a lot of history around here...
