Z4000 remote and receiver question

I own 1 of these remote/receiver setups and 2 Z4000s. Today I went to turn on the Z4000 with the remote but both Z4000S were taking these commands. Note i only had 1 of the receivers plugged in so only 1 of the Z4000s should have got the signal. Anyone know what caused this.
