GPTOM, With the black insulated binding post, they are not a major structural integrity fastening item. You DO NOT need to tighten them down to assist with holding the metering bridge in place. I know, because having learned the hard way, as many others have. It would have been nice for this fact to be communicated to everyone, purchasers of the meter bridge. Their primary purpose is to complete the common side of the transformer circuit between the transformer and the metering bridge itself. Once they are "bottomed out" and complete the common ground circuit on each A-D post, that is sufficient, without the need to really "tighten" them down. This will assist greatly in prevention of snapping off the insulated posts screw head caps. And, yes, logically, once only one, any one of them are in place and completing the common side circuit, this should provide the needed common to all four A-D circuits. However, I still make certain all 4 insulated binding posts are installed correctly, per the metering bridge instructions.
