I would like to form my own repro box and inserts to store my ZW in while its not in use but I dont have a box to measure. Could anyone please take the time to take pics of your box and inserts and take measurements? It could be an original or a repro, it doesnt matter. I get sheets of cardboard from work and from time to time ill make a box if I need one of a certain size. Ive also made inserts for postwar set boxes when I was missing them. Thanks in advance.

thanks for the pics. do you have the dimensions?
sorry Trainfever I don't
With the picture with the transformer in the box, can't you determine pretty closely the size of the inserts?
The whole idea of this thread is to make the reproduction box myself, not buy it. And yes I could definitely guess at what size the box and inserts are but thats not going to help me make an exact replica.
Well, and exact replica would probably require a bit of time to measure everything. Maybe you can find someone local that has the original.
Actually I just need the height, width and length of the box and the height and some pics of the bottom insert. From there I can calculate the measurments of the rest of the pieces.
Trainfever, here are my approx. measurements. The exterior of the box measures: 14" long x 8-3/4" wide x 9-1/8" high. The inside measures approx: 13-3/4" long x 8-1/2 wide x 8-7/8" high. The measurements of the bottom inserts are: 13-1/2" long x 8-1/8" wide x 1-1/16" thick. Hope this helps a little in your project; I think it's a great idea.

Thanks a lot Ken. That will help immensly. I have a few more questions reguarding the taped corner. Is the extra corner flap wrapped around the outer panel or tucked inside it and is it attached to the side panel or the end panel? Or the corners just butt cut and taped together? thanks a lot.
Trainfever, the corner that is taped is just butted up to the side panel. I tried to take a pic of this for you. I think, besides being taped on the corner, it is also glued to the bottom panel which would keep it place. Other measuresments (approx) for the two long inserts are: 13-1/2" long x 7-1/2" wide, the thickness of the outer edge of this is: 1-5/8", with the inner being: 1-5/16". The top insert measures: 7-9/16" long x 4-7/8" wide x 1-1/4" thick.

Thanks Ken, youve been a great help. I searched on ebay for pics of boxes but couldnt get a clear shot of the taped corner because the tape hides the joint. I did fing one box, I believe its from the 60s, its orange. Anyway it looks like theres a tab that wraps around the outside on the short end and is glued, no tape. Ill post some pics of mine when I get it finished. Now Ill have to see if I can find a pic of the label thats glued on the one end lol
If you find a clear picture, you can size it and print it to closely match the original. I've done that with several Internet pictures.
I actually have been looking for pictures to try and print but they all seem to be at an angle.

Ok, here is my version, all hand cut and hand creased and folded by me. It may not be perfect or an original but it works. Now all I need is a frontal view of the label from the 275 version, all the ones I've found were from an angle. Anyone have a frontal view they want to share?

Looks great, almost a carbon copy.
You know, you can use graphics software to skew an image and get a frontal view for printing. Of course, someone here must have one of these boxes and be able to take a proper view.
Thanks John, hopefully someone will read this thread and have a pic they can share.
So I'm looking for my ZW. but can't seem to locate it. I looked everywhere and in just about every possible box. Then I see this box and look inside to find my ZW. HA! I forgot that I made this box, I need to get that label made. lol
