Very smart move on MTH's part -- especially in light of Lionel's approach.

 

BTW, has MTH begun shipping their first powered units yet?  I seem to recall they were due to ship a few road-names this quarter.

It would also be nice if MTH started offering scale wheels (2R) versions of their dummy units.

That's good news. I wish they'd do the same with the UP Heritage series as there are a few I'd like to add to my stable.

That is great news.  Now I can get a non-powered NKP with correct road number to run behind my Lionel 765 Berk to simulate the prototype runs sponsored by NS.

I wonder if Lionel will rethink their non-powered units to have the correct number. Otherwise, I think Lionel will suffer on non-powered sales to those wanting the units to be as accurate as possible. I will probably order from MTH unless Lionel changes their offereings.

Lines 3-4 of the press release say "non-powered versions of all 20 . . ." Put 2 and 2 together...

OK. But I did notice only 10 on the sd70ace  and 9 on es44ac on the announcement. So there was no mention of this particular paint scheme and item number on the above announcement. I actually just got the traditional black NS sd70ace making it 11.
