Yeah..nice movie and the fact that Janet Leigh is really hot is an added bonus...so... what train is it?
Caught it by accident......wife was watching 'Bishops Wife'. Just for fun I looked up the price of the Lionel F-3 with Madison cars and all accessory's Like Leigh orders in the movie. The cost of $80 1949 dollars makes the set today $745 per the inflation calac anyway! So trains are cheaper today!!!
The opening is great and the layout at the end....catch it!
The track plan best I can figure......
I enjoyed that movie well
Be sure to see The Station Agent on WLNY (CBS New York) this Sunday, starring the awesome Peter Dinklage. Great movie around trains, and some nice shots of Postwar, MPC, LTI, and LLC Lionel on the shelves of one scene, including an MPC-era Union Pacific Berkshire.

Santa Fe F units with passenger cars? And I think there's a clear shot of a 1033 transformer track side.
EDIT: Train was labeled the Red Rocket Express. Assume this was made up just for the movie?

Pretty sure it was.......I'd love to know the story of the opening credits and how it was done......some great model work!!!!
I'd agree - the loco sure looks like it has ATSF heritage. Holiday Affair is my favorite holiday movie. The later remake tried to stay true to the spirit of the original but didn't really make it, IMHO.
I have seen many Twilight Zone episodes but I have never seen the one with Art Carney as the drunken department store Santa until last night. It looked like he was operating a ZW transformer but the trains looked like 2 rail O gauge. Does anyone know the type of trains used in that episode?
Gordon Gebert the boy who played Timmy Ennis still has the set:

Would be cool if WBB came out with a set, they already have the neccasary cars just need to letter them for the Red Rocket.
