According to the Lionel store web page, the 0-4-0s are showing in stock. Its been over 2 1/2 years since they were cataloged back in 2022. Looking forward to this release and seeing all the improvements Lionel made. Now  I just have to wait until I get my shipping notice from Charles ro. Anyone else excited for these?

Trainworld was super fast shipping this one out. Haven’t ran it much yet so still need to see how that goes. M

As for looks the color looks much better than the L1 and the lowered tender is definitely an improvement. The new tooling for the engine is certainly upgraded in detail over the first version from K-Line. The tether isn’t super easy to plug in and seems a bit tight - will have to wait to see how it works on curves.

The size of the engine still seems slightly oversized like the original tooling. They may be the same size but I don’t have that model to do a side by side. I was hoping it would be a bit closer to the MTH model, but overall it seems like a neat small switcher.

My biggest annoyance is that they installed a round Baldwin Philadelphia builder plates rather than the correct oval Altoona versions. Even the original K-line version got that right… IMO total miss on Lionel’s part. Not sure it can be fixed as the plate is somewhat sunken into the boiler casting.

Smooth-running loco!  Agree that a side-by-side comparison of the current release, the prior K-Line/Lionel version, and an MTH Premier or Weaver Gold A5 would be very instructive.  Thanks for sharing!
