Absolutely terrific releases!!! Good job!!!
Absolutely fantastic!!!!!! I'm ordering the set
Not prototypical !!
I like them. I just ordered a set.
I'm in for a set and added the deuce & 1/2.
Even signed up for a Menards' BIG Card
Ordered them, but I am upset Mark you had to put these out when I am saving up money for a future purchase, and school.
These cars are really nice, but kinda pricey. Are they scale sized?

Maybe, but hey Menards thinking outside the box (like the burned engine house)! I mean after all, are your 1950-60 Lionel and some early MTH cars protypically detailed down to brake rigging and rivet counts and placements?
This is a toy hobby after all (I think, isn't it??)

Bro, these come out to be about $25 each. (149/6=24.83). That is an EXCELLENT price for brand new box cars with great art work.
Very cool. What I can say is that Menards is now first choice for home building supplies going forward. They were price competitive with Home Depot and Lowes before this, just a little longer drive. Now I have more than enough excuse to drive the 10 minutes farther. It will always be easy to bury a train purchase into the 1K$ bathroom upgrade.
I ordered a set as soon as I saw them. I just love WWII pinups!
Ordered..!!!!!

They are semi Scale, meaning they are the size of Railking Boxcars.
I like them.
I ordered a set.
With all of $$$ I have spent on train items at Menards, we could almost build a store in Virginia!!
Nice cars but a little pricey-after all they have the tooling but enjoy !! Not my cup of tea, though.

They may be a little pricey as a package, but at $25 a car for those graphics and an original idea I think its a great deal and a stunning visual package. I do have to admit though that I simply don't have that kind of spare change laying around in January. Hopefully they will be in stock for while.

I apologize if this question has been asked before but what kind of trucks to they use?
I like the idea here, I will be purchasing a set provided they use decent trucks. I've purchased items with lousy trucks in the past and won't do it again. It's just too expensive to replace the trucks.

Dang, those look good. Too bad my budget got maxed on some prewar recently!
jim pastorius posted:Not prototypical !!
I would say it's plausible though.
I just saw ads for the Menards' tank car and hopper, and the ad said the hopper would be available in other roadnames than Milwaukee. So...what are they?
I don't think they've said yet!
Gentlemen,
You got to love these new WWII Commemorative Box Cars, you know I will be ordering them, to add to my US Army SF Train. Way to Go Menard's! Great WWII era art work.

I like what is stenciled on the doors, "Deliver to Hitler Berlin, Germany." May just make my first Menards purchase. Well done Menards!
enjoy your trains...
Let me say this, these are nice cars and the art on the sides looks nice on the boxcars. These cars will look nice next to my other Menard's Military Cars. The price is about right, consider this you pay 24.99 for weather cars and 19.99 and for the military box with Amo you paid 24.99. I can't wait to get these and these are good looking cars.
Very nice set. And while I will pass on these (I have stopped buying until the layout and a 1/1 scale car project finished) I truly appreciate this set. My father-in-law was in the Air Force for all of WWII and this is a great tribute. Bravo Menards.
Well done Menards - a WWII tribute is a great idea. We ordered a set as well along with the latest building, hopper and tank car. Please keep the military-related items coming. They've all been great. I agree that circus items are a great idea too. Thanks for the exciting releases!

I really wasn't interested in the Menards rolling stock program, until last night that is. I now have a set on order. Lord Help Me !
I don't want to be critical but isn't it time to honor the RIFLEMAN ?? The grunt who bore the main burden of the war-suffered the highest casualties ?? Just sayin'

Yeah I bought three of the previous boxcars and the trucks were so loose that the cars took a bow around the corners! If they are using better/tighter trucks I'll be buying a set for sure! I'll wait until a detailed pic or review is up that mentions the trucks though.
It is a very fair price though! I do wish you could buy individually as I'd be buying a few of the Memphis Belle! I use to work for the woman (Margaret Polk) who was the inspiration for the nose art and name!
This is a question for Mark (The Menards Train Guy):
I purchased the O Gauge farm Supply Building last week. I see now there is an 11% Rebate available. In the past I remember seeing a link to an on-line rebate form to could be used for prior purchases. Is this something that is still available?
Kindest Regards,
Brian Huang

Brian,
I've attached the 11% rebate price adjustment.
For anyone else looking to use this price adjustment, please review the offer details as stated on the attached slip. Please note, the price adjustment only applies to purchases made 1/10/16 through 1/23/16. Price adjustments are in the form of a Merchandise Credit Check only. Merchandise Credit Checks can be used at any Menards store but are not valid for online purchases.
Thank you,

I love them, to big a hit right now but I hope they are still in stock in a few weeks. Price is right. What stinks is I have about $45.00 worth of rebates pulse if I order these ill get $16.00 more that I can't use cause I dont live near a store. Mark Why can't they be used for online purchase too? Would be a big help. Keep up the great offers Menards...

E-UNIT-79,
The rebate program is geared towards bringing Guests into our stores. I agree that it is unfortunate for those who live far away from a Menards store. However, I always like to remind people that we really don't mind if you sell or trade rebates. They have value, I promise you that. Credit checks never expire so maybe you can save them for the next time you visit the Midwest.
