Neat find Rich,

Very nice.
Yes Family Dollar, and Dollar General have 1/43 scale cars usually. I have found approximately 8 different models of cars, many more of a modern model than you usually find. Some are very good looking and plain like something you would see on the roads today like a BMW, a Mini Cooper, etc...
Good find.
CVS pharmacies carry 1/43 (not to scale but close) along with 1/32 etc. Selection is limited, I found a mid 30's Cord - had custom flames on it. There were some mid 50's Chevies too.

My son is manager of a Rite Aid....they to have a permanent die cast display. Range $3-5. Check the scale as they vary greatly.
Flames or other decorations can usually be removed easily with a light wipe with a rag and lacquer thinner. Or taken apart and repainted.
I forgot about Tractor Supply, the local one has 1/43 also.
our two local TSC stores are VERY seasonal and VERY hit or miss for anything remotely close to 1/43 anything...
I Stumbled onto a "Tractor Supply" in NJ today. I found this 1/43 truck. They also had a very long horse trailer in 1/43. They also had a garbage truck, a tow truck for trucks and a septic pumping truck that looked close to 1/43 scale.
Stopped at Tractor Supply yesterday. Trucks reduced. got a box truck for less than $5. 40% off all toy trucks
