Took a trip out to see the 1309 yesterday, my first time seeing her in operation. Nice looking machine. The WMSRR is using her to haul a "North Pole Express" this weekend, in what I assume was her first revenue run on the 17th Dec. The "North Pole" was at Helmstetter's Curve! There was a HUGE crowd out there yesterday! Glad I arrived early.

From the WMSRR web site, they do not intend to run 1309 anymore until spring, after these runs on the 18th and 19th.  After seeing her in person, I think that's a good idea. It appears to me she needs a lot more detail work, only possible by testing changes and settings,  and operating until she's ready for revenue operation.  The 1309 is a real beauty!

A couple of photos from yesterday.

Ed, Thanks for the pictures! There is one more weekend in late February that 1309 is scheduled to operate. That weekend is going to be for the Trains Magazine organized photo freight runs.
