It is 1949 and the local photographer heard that the yard's remaining H6b was going into the shop for repairs. Being this old mainline freight engine is now 39 years old and not really the best for switching, he is pretty sure it will not return. He thinks PRR management will say it is too costly to fix it. So he ran out to the yard to get some pictures before it is gone.
A 2021 Christmas Layout memory
What I'm trying to show in these first 2 images is that there was a 4' space behind the plateau. I didn't want to waste time working on it since as you can see it's not really viewable. But part of it was so I did just enough to cover what can be seen.

Wow impressive layouts Scott, please post more pics of these fine detailed layouts on future weeks. Some great modeling, detailing and weathering. Look forward to seeing everyone's layout/work each week.
Have been getting a few more dry days to run on the club Garden railway as we continue to work on the track, laying more O gauge/scale loops. Here are some shots from a recent visit, including an HO 2-10-4 Selkirk on a modular railway in the station then O scale Selkirk outside. Also the pic with all the steam is a G scale live steam Royal Hudson. Others are all O scale. The Red CP train is running on the main G scale part of the layout on the dual G-O scale track. A bit of a challenge to get the O scale wheels to ride over the large G scale track frogs.
The Trains are running again at Biltmore Estate. New layout design this year showcases grande structures from the past with the likes of the Pyramids, the Colosseum, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Chitzen Itza, the great wall of China, and others. If you are in the area, it is a well worthwhile trip to see the Biltmore House and gardens. The trains are in Antler Village and are really nice.

65 years ago, the past week, on March 29, 1957, the New York Ontario & Western closed down forever.....here are some of my O&W trains in action on my 2011-2021 6x16' layout...
Also, there is an ongoing thread in the Real Trains section (from this past week) about the O&W.

Really nice layout. Your recent images must be of your CA layout. It is really nice, too.
The fueling station in the center of this image; who made it? Thanks.
Ron:
Thanks! The fueling station is an old Marx accessory that still looks right at home now on my latest CA layout:
These are MTH Premier GATX funnel-flow tank cars based on real GATX tank cars used to haul SODIUM HYDROXIDE SOLUTION.
Sometime during the past 10 years these tank cars have become frequently used in large groups to haul SODIUM HYDROXIDE SOLUTION in the CN freight trains passing through Michigan.

Here's my trip with my dad to the Lincoln Park Train Club down in Lincoln Park, Michigan. Just 45 minutes from where live in Rochester in the Metro Detroit area. It's not as big as the Chi-Town, Holly, and Flat Rock layouts, but it does have a three-decker O Gauge layout on the right and an HO Gauge layout on the left, plus the club's husky named Jasper, and it's enough to make you feel you're right at home. It's open 10 AM-1 PM every Saturday at the Lincoln Park Senior Center. Just call the owner first for details.
Two Weaver Baltimore and Ohio box cars.
Bob,
Thank you. I spent some time looking for the Marx one and the K-Line one popped up. Could not find either currently for sale. These seem to be the only diesel fueling stations out there in O.
