Hello all. I'm looking for 18/3 Stranded Cables (to hook up turnouts to the MTH AIU) as well as an 18V AC 1 amp power supply to power my TIU. I've been to various places in the area and looked on-line, but to no avail. Any hints as to where I can get these items?

Most any electrical supply store will have 18/3 thermostat wire, in most cases it will be solid, usually 500 ft rolls. . What I used for all of my switch/turnouts.
Not sure if this is what you want, but I "googled" "3 conductor 18 awg stranded cable" And got quite a few hits. Here's one from Dell City
I also used the 18/3 thermostat wire. It worked quite well, however it is solid and not stranded. It was also less expensive than other wire I found online and readily available from our near by Home Depot or Lowes. I really wanted to use #20, but it was difficult to find and almost all I found was sheilded.
Thanks for all of the advice. Ted, is that parallel wire stranded or not? If it is, I may go with that. Now all need is an 18V power supply for the TIU. I did see where some musical stores use something like what I want for keyboards or amps. Any thoughts on that?

You can click the link above and read the nomenclature. Here is a screen shot. Sez trailor wire, brown, green, yellow. I figure it is stranded, but I would call and ask to be sure before ordering.

Yes trailer wire is stranded, as is all automotive wire.
For your power supply look for them in a used computer dealer or thrift stores like goodwill. I have aace here in Seattle called RE-PC and have bins of plug in 110 v ac & dc power supplies separated by voltages. The early laptops had 18 vdc power supplies.
I am with the guys with the solid thermostat wire.
I also use 3 conductor solid thermostat wire for AIU connections. I found a great deal on Z-500 power supplies (just the brick) on ebay a while back for TIU aux power. i know it's an overkill, but the price was right and every once in a while I tap the 18 VAC for an accessory. I use 14 VAC for most accessories and switches.
