Scrapple? - there must be folks that like it, otherwise it wouldn't be made. I tried it the first time I went down to York, before I had any idea what was in it. Didn't care for it myself. Had I known what it was made from, I don't think I would have tried it.
The most unusual thing I saw at York was an original Lionel 1960's "ferris wheel" display, in very nice shape.
Scrapple? I went to China on Business. If the guy next to me ate it and didn't die, I would try some. it doesn't mean I ate a lot of it.
Same applies to scrapple. Try a bite and continue from there.
Scrapple is great, along with a couple of eggs it makes for a great breakfast. It is a staple here in the northeast.
The people!

Just think of the best occasion, party or event you've ever been to, then multiply it by 10! Add to it the trains as a backdrop and you have the York Meet!!
Seeing friends and meeting new ones, events such as the DCS and Legacy user group meetings, the OGR gathering at T.G.I. Friday's on Thursday night, the OGR grandstand meeting on Friday afternoon, meeting the various manufacturers and their workshops and the enormous amount of trains to see and buy are what make this model train event so special.
You can take all the pictures you want outside of the buildings. I highly recommend attending all three days if at all possible. There's so much to see and do! The drive home on Saturday is sad, like going back to work the day after Christmas!
It was great going to York for the first time since I got back into the hobby. The last time I went was 2004. I invited my wife to attend with me and she absolutely loved it. I think she pointed out more stuff to buy for certain scenes than I did. I was afraid she would be like, "those little people cost how much", but she was the opposite, even saying we should get a few of the "ladies" to complete a rundown part of town on the layout. Also makes the 6 hour drive go faster having someone to talk to.
Oh boy it sounded great! I've heard a lot about the orange hall, as opposed to the White and Brown Which is the favorite? Which Hall had the tours and the workshops? I like the fact that calls can be made from the tables now....We're there any problems? Attendance was up???
Can't wait till spring York now!

Isn't it made from the part that went over the fence last? Plus, I heard it is served w/ an angioplasty, in higher-end establishments, no?
All the halls are my favorites. Mike, I hope you can make it in April.
What was awesome? My wife. We had a great time sightseeing around Harrisburg and then seeing everyone at TGI Fridays. She even attended the grandstands meeting on Friday.
Scrapple - I didn't have a chance to try it this time in PA so I had some the following week back home in VA.
