OK, York is a few days away, I do not see the usual gueses or leaks that the past has always seemed to pop up right before York. I did notice in this months OGR magazine an MTH plug for the ATSF Hudson with a military consist. Iwas thinking this may be new or is it from a past catalog? I like to get one someday. Anyway only a few days left, anyone hear anything? Or is all the dealers got the hand to the fire, if you leak it will not go well for you! But Old Charlie would at least give you some clues, well Charlie anything titelating to give out, Like a NEW North American Steam or Diesel engine maybe.

Yeah, seems odd. I always enjoy - at least for the first 2 or 3 Forum pages - the sound and fury of the speculations and wishes; even join in, occasionally.
Maybe everyone is worn out from the World of Big Boy. Seems MTH guys are a little more laid back, more cerebral. More Zen. Om-m-m-m-m...
Me, I'm faithful to no one. It's all good.
I have not completed looking through the recent Lionel Catalogs or the MTH RTR catalog yet.
Soon enough we will know.
Premier NYC Niagara
There was a speculation thread sometime in the last week or so about MTH's releases. Obviously, it didn't have the staying power the Lionel and Big Boy threads have.
Atlas's 2014 catalog answered my prayers for O&W coal hoppers, so I would like to see some small steam power from MTH for the O&W. At the very least, small steam I can re-number and badge for the old and weary.
There's just no substitute for wild guesses and rampant unwarranted speculation, is there. It will be what it is, period. If you're posting what you hope to see, fuhgedaboudit. This catalog has long been a done deal, and apparently there's no guarantee that cataloged items will be delivered. So good luck, eh.

A full feature Big Boy! At least that is a rumor I heard six/seven months ago.
Premier NYC Niagara
More like a Premier Union Pacific FEF-3, 4-8-4.

I wish MTH would release a larger variety of intermodal equipment. That is the one thing I have been disappointed with in O-gauge.
If they made these 89 foot TOFC flatcars that would be amazing.
Don't tell anyone, and you didn't hear this from me, but certain authority tells me there's an Amtrak Acela looming.
How about a bunch of european equipment that probably about two people in this country want, and No GE 44 TON!

How well does the MTH European equipment sell abroad?
To my knowledge and so far as I know (same thing, really), the MTH European
line is quite successful, "abroad" and here, but more in Europe, of course.
I have a Chapelon 2-3-1 Engineering Edition, and am looking seriously at the plain
gray DB 2-10-0 in the latest Euro brochure (Eurochure?).
There a far more than "two people in the country" who are interested.

The scale GE 44-tonner is indeed a continuing conundrum, though I would FAR more prefer a scale GE 45-tonner - the version with the side rods. Saw them as a kid. Very
"toy train" visuals, but applied to a scale loco - would be a win-win for marketing.
My guess is a LIRR RS.......oh I better shut up.
I'm guessing (hoping) a Wabash F-7!
Now THAT would be interesting. However, I was not aware that MTH ever offered any scale models of the famous Reading RR T-1 class 4-8-4s, previously. So I doubt that MTH would be producing any "new tooling", would they?
The Reading T1 was in the volume 2 2004 catalog whilst the Reading & Blue Mt. was in the 2006 catalog.

That would be awesome...maybe even a RK Imperial version for those of us with smaller layouts!
If they do Aclea I will order it,
1 It is new.
2 I like it, see it at DC terminal
3 I hope they do not put all the junk on it that Lionel did that had problems.
4. If MTH came out with a new North American model, I would buy it.
How about an Acela for the North Americans and a TGV for the European market?
Oooooh.....train races around the layout.
All of the mentioned T-1 schemes were already done by MTH. Maybe, like the real ones, some were kept in storage for future upgrades.
More of the usual in new road names would be my guess. I don't expect any great surprise.
Jim
If there's no 44-tonner (give or take a few tons), I shall be forced to seek one elsewhere.
I would be very shocked if there are any new toolings of rolling stock.
Just re-runs of old stuff with new paint schemes (probably fantasy)
My guess is a LIRR RS.......oh I better shut up.
An RS3 in MTA colors perhaps???
An engine with Whistle Steam and Quillable whistle

Reliable sources whispered; a SCALE PRR Q1 with Steam effects and engine gauges with needles that move like the real one
Only one can wish for a NEW NYC Subway model.
An RS3 in MTA colors perhaps???
Sorry no......:-(
O-o-o-o - PRR Q1 - would like, especially unpainted.

That would be a new engine, Right, different then the Q2 4 cylinder back to back as to opposed cylinders. I buy that!
I just verified it, it is the later, Yea!
I'm guessing it will just be another catalog with re runs equipped with Proto 3 such as:
SD70MAC
SD60M
GP60M
U30C
And I hope for:
Regular NS ES44AC
ATSF B40-8W
My guess is a LIRR RS.......oh I better shut up.
Charlie you spelt LIRR H10 wrong
A whole new model, the Baldwin Baby Face cab diesels.
Dan
John P - yeah, the streamlined, one-off experimental Q-1. Not a huge success - but they
learned some things that made the Q-2 a successful monster. I want it for the streamlined, sleek looks of the beast - a classy RK Imperial version would be just fine with me.
3rd Rail has offered it in brass, but I would prefer it with MTH (or Lionel) engineering skills behind it.

Diesel Dan - Babyface Baldwins - yes! Technically the Baldwin Centipedes are Babyface Baldwins also, but I want an AA set like the GM&O had (they had six-wheel A1A
trucks - just like the Alco PA's, so use the same/similar underpinnings). The GM&O's
were painted in that popular red/maroon ex-Alton scheme, too.
And somebody, someday just has to offer the double-ended CNJ Babyface units; so
cool. I'd even buy a fantasy GM&O paint scheme on one of those.
