Thank you very much Robert. You answered the question I've had for weeks now. I hope to get one of these soon.

Brad

I am glad the box photo helped you. When I was considering buying one of these, I was confused by the dimensions Lionel had on its website. They seemed wrong, but I had no way of telling. Finally, I found a place in New Jersey that had the #2530 in stock and displayed on the shelf. I held it in my hand and measured it. That was when I realized that Lionel had the dimensions listed incorrectly. I fell in love with it immediately and ended up buying two of them. They really are beautifully detailed locomotives. I have liked the GP30 body style my entire life. They run beautifully also.

My wife and I actually rode on passenger cars pulled by the #2530 and #2531 at the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway in Jim Thorpe, PA. Great experience and it was so cool actually riding on a real life locomotive that I also had in my train collection. I hook up each of these locomotives with its own set of Atlas passenger cars. One set is for Reading Blue Mountain and Northern and the other set is for Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway. These are the same passenger cars they use in Jim Thorpe that we rode on. I am going to attach a photo of the #2530 in Jim Thorpe, PA.

You'll love this locomotive, Brad, regardless of the rail line.
