The 2022 NMRA National Convention is next week in St. Louis from August 8 to August 15. The National Train Show is from August 12 to August 15. I leaving tomorrow for St. Louis. Who else is going?
I have been to about a half dozen NMRA national conventions and train shows. The bus layout tours are my favorite activity. I find it inspiring to see some awesome home layouts in all scales. There will be three O scale layouts on one of the bus tours that I am taking.
This year, O Scale Central, will be represented in the Special Interest Group room. The O scale 2-rail Wingate modular layout built by Tony Koester for a series of Model Railroader articles will be displayed and running. The plan is to encourage visitors to operate on the Wingate display.
I will be manning the O Scale Central table from time to time. Say hello if you see me. I will be wearing a name badge.
O scale 2-rail will also be represented by a modular layout at the national train show. I will be helping run this display from time to time. I haven't seen this display yet. There are usually several 3-rail O gauge modular layouts at the train show. I am looking forward to seeing them.
Lionel has had a display booth at several past national train shows. I hope that they will be there. I always enjoy finding out what is new from the Lionel representative. MTH was also there in the past. I will be surprised if MTH is there this year. Atlas has had a booth at every national show that I have attended. Hopefully they will bring some of their new O scale products. I bought some of my first 3rd Rail engines from their booth at a national train show. Hopefully 3rd Rail will attend.
