I was running one of my 2055 locomotives and it stopped dead on the tracks. It buzzes and the headlight is on. When I cycle the F-N-R-N sequence, the e-unit buzzes louder, but no motion. I have tried throwing the e-unit lever, but nothing. Can anyone point me to what the problem may be? TIA

Hi Scott, first thing to check is the E-unit Drum. I have see them do this when the plastic breaks or the round brass contacts come off the Drum. Hope this helps

Broken wire going to the motor?
Can you spin the drivers by hand?
If not, you have a mechanical bind somewhere in the drive train.

If it was literally running and stopped suddenly, I would check carefully for debris in the gears. Magne-traction is great at picking up screws, tacks, staples, etc., that might be near the tracks! Also, what ^^Dmasso said about checking the driving rod linkage. Please let us know what you found.
