Hello , I have a Lionel 259 the brass lugs pressed into the steel frame have become loose allowing the brush plate to shift. The motor will run fine in reverse when the plate is being torqued up , but when its going foward the brass lugs get pulled down and the brush holders rub on the comutator. Does anyone have a way to tighten the brass lugs holding the brush plate short of taking the whole frame apart. Presently I have a razor blade shim holding the lugs in place so it does not shift. Thanks for any Ideas

Drop of Crazy Glue while twisting. Should hold them snug. If the brush tubes still hit you can shim with thin shimming washers.

Take the frequency in which you wish to take that apart into consideration. Loctite threadlocker products are commonly used to keep stuff put together.. or a tad bit of hot-glue would likely be a cheap way to go that would wake little force to undo.
Man I hate to use glue but I guess it's the easy way out . I have a shim in it now I guess a drop of glue can't hurt . Thanks boys
how about a tiny rubber or locking washer instead to keep things tight?
