I have a (hopefully) simple question. Is a 32" wide board/HC Door wide enough to accept 031 curves? I have an old 32"x80" HCD and am contemplating a portable O gauge Tinplate layout.

It will be very tight and may not work all that well.
Have you considered 027 track? I know that a circle of 027 will fit in an area of 30 inches or so.

Thanks for replying. I currently was going the 027 route, have plenty of track, but had the 031 brainstorm. Do you know the overall dimension, tie-tie I guess for a 031 half loop? I could always add to the door to get the extra width.

Having built several door layouts, I can tell you that 031 will not work on a 30" door.

The door I currently have is 32" wide. I interested to see how much I need to add the door to get the curved section in. Also trying to get the dimension (outer tie to outer tie at the half curve for my calculations. Thanks Mike
