John and I had a marvelous time at the convention last week exhibiting the 2 Rail Longmont Terminal & Northern Branch Line Railroad. Like every venue met some new friends and had some generous help from some old friends.
Thank you Myron, Jeff, Bob, and Reyes.
Like any project the entire layout is a consistent phase of continuing progress and or partial completion on areas. I make it one way and change it again and again. The bridge as seen in another thread or saga is nearing completion and this will add a huge quality to the layout a cornerstone of the exhibit.
Customized Sofue ATSF Mikado #3286 rolls a detoured manifest past the farms of the Front Range
The farm is always a big hit with everyone. As John says, If we had a dollar for every picture taken by visitors we could fund this project!
The layout performed with infallible success for 4 days. A testament to John’s ongoing work on the track.
Hotel Longmont was sold out all weekend!
My good friend Ron Kieser built this beautiful Tennessee Pass line standard gauge depot 25 years ago and passed it along. I will be installing it in the coming months. Thanks Ron!
The branch line power... rolls through town. I wish my dear friend ChipR were here to see this; he wanted this railroad to come alive. He would be proud and Rovetta’s Creek located just outside of Longview is named after him. I miss him greatly
I will add more replies to this thread with some photos of the show and vendor areas.
Have a great Labor Day evening all.
