Has anyone ordered the Mini-2 from 3rd Rail? I am wondering if it's available with the smoke option, on the website it only mentioned the light option.

When 3rd Rail took over from ERR I ordered (put in a reservation for) 6 Mini Commander 2 kits. As far as I know Lionel still hasn't given them permission to sell that particular item.

Actually, they did get the go ahead, they're just waiting for product to come in from the board house. Be patient Grasshopper, they're coming. 
What they haven't gotten the nod for yet is the Cruise Commander Lite, that's the one I'd like to see them do.
Thank you John, that is good news. I have a reservation for the CC-Lite too. I model S gauge so the smaller boards are the only ones that will fit in some of my locomotives.

Yes, love to see the CC-Lite show up on the reservation list. I also being in "S" I have a couple of these reserved. Now just waiting for Lionel to give the go ahead.

You can cut down a full Cruise Commander for a better fit in light locomotives.

Might be a good idea to email Scott.
On a side note/request. I wish Scott could bring back the railsounds 4.0 commander. I know lionel still has stock but that won't last forever.
The MC-II three configuration options are programming options, the hardware is the same. I'm pretty sure in my discussion with Scott that he'll be offering all three. I thought he was going to change the website to reflect the availability of each option, maybe that will happen when they're actually in stock. I think right now he just wants to know how many boards people are reserving.
