Im not trying to get off topic..john I dont understand this?? said there a switch for steam and diesel ..dont see anything..the guy had it wire to run full blast..took the wires off of that..those the other 2 prong plug was for the fan motor?Britrailor does your smoke unit look like this one?Also look at your 8 pin conecters from tender and engine side.. read that there cheap and at times can short out with one another..that why Im going to oder MTH conecters..

FWIW, one of the tethers I have does indeed have a smoked trace between the wire and the connector.   However, they're 10 pin tethers that I have.

 

John,was asking you if you read the instructions,if you understand it better then me ?maybe you might be able to help me out?Britrailor,you train drive line is just like my S1 duplex belt driven..would like to see how your smoke unit is wired?
