Hi Guys,

Scott Mann, of 3rd Rail/Sunset,  will be there in person at the upcoming York Show, so one can bring this subject up with him.  I would love a NYC L-2 Mohawk.  All we have to do is reserve the minimum number of models that Scott needs to go forward with the project.  Scott has all the plans and photos he needs to bring in a super detailed model.  The same goes for the NYC H-10 2-8-2.

And while at Sunset's tables check out their latest offering....the Virginian electric.

It's a numbers game. I need to see at least 100 reservations before I can spend the money on Design and production for 120 models, the minimum number of brass engines a factory can economically make.

Why some projects get reservations and others don't I can only guess.

NYC H-10a, has some reservations, but not quite enough.

D&RGW L-105, is a go for 2019.

C&O #490, lots of interest, but still not enough reservations to start. But it's early in the game.

The volume of orders for Steam Engines really tells a story of too much already made and not enough new blood. That includes both 2 Rail and 3 Rail O Scale.

Hi Scott,

That makes a lot of sense with everything you are saying.

With that being said, I see the Rio Grande steam seams to be doing well. Would there be any possibilities of offering the M-68 Rio Grande 4-8-4's and the Mopac N-73s ?  The M-68 design later formed the basis of the Missouri Pacific N-73s procured in 1943.  Two AWESOME birds, with one stone...

Wouldn't mind seeing a Lehigh Valley 4-8-4 either... seams the NE stuff sells well too.

Thanks for bringing awesome models to us!

David
