Boy where did this thread come from? Found in the depths of the forum I guess. Anyway the Mohawks were a very long shot. The H10 if made and including all the Subs of the NYC that had them like my B&A, maybe not so long. We'll have to see.
Hi Guys,
Scott Mann, of 3rd Rail/Sunset, will be there in person at the upcoming York Show, so one can bring this subject up with him. I would love a NYC L-2 Mohawk. All we have to do is reserve the minimum number of models that Scott needs to go forward with the project. Scott has all the plans and photos he needs to bring in a super detailed model. The same goes for the NYC H-10 2-8-2.
And while at Sunset's tables check out their latest offering....the Virginian electric.
Steve
I agree with Steve.
If anyone is going to York, please talk to Scott on our behalf... I too very much would love an L2 Mohawk from 3rd Rail. Thanks in advance,
Just curious, but was anyone able to speak to Scott about doing the Mohawks? Thanks..

Not enough reservations, project is dead in the water
Maybe the reason the Mohawks are dead in the water,a lot of them have been made by Lionel and MTH.I hope Scott gets enough reservations to do the H-10 Mikado because I have a reservation for one.
MTH still has four variations in stock ?

Thanks Gary.... Appreciate the heads up...
Do you think the large numbers of Lionel L2a Mohawks out there has reduced the demand for the 3RD Rail version? I have two Lionel L2a’s and they are very well detailed engines.
I did reserve an 3RD Rail NYC H10 Mikado. It’s s great looking engine and there are no three Rail versions to be had at all.
Thanks,’Richard
It's a numbers game. I need to see at least 100 reservations before I can spend the money on Design and production for 120 models, the minimum number of brass engines a factory can economically make.
Why some projects get reservations and others don't I can only guess.
NYC H-10a, has some reservations, but not quite enough.
D&RGW L-105, is a go for 2019.
C&O #490, lots of interest, but still not enough reservations to start. But it's early in the game.
The volume of orders for Steam Engines really tells a story of too much already made and not enough new blood. That includes both 2 Rail and 3 Rail O Scale.
Scott Mann
Hi Scott,
That makes a lot of sense with everything you are saying.
With that being said, I see the Rio Grande steam seams to be doing well. Would there be any possibilities of offering the M-68 Rio Grande 4-8-4's and the Mopac N-73s ? The M-68 design later formed the basis of the Missouri Pacific N-73s procured in 1943. Two AWESOME birds, with one stone...
Wouldn't mind seeing a Lehigh Valley 4-8-4 either... seams the NE stuff sells well too.
Thanks for bringing awesome models to us!

Thanks for the update Scott. Come on people reserve those H10
I buy steam engines and I’d love some nice 2 rail UP stuff but after I had to fight George Kohs to ge5 my deposit back after he lied to me, you’re the only guy I’d buy em from
That L-105 is looking REAL Good.... I just signed up for the Green boiler Flying Rio Grande!
