Just curious. I think I read that there is a separate supply line and container for the whistle smoke. Is that the case or did I read that incorrectly.
There maybe a bubble in the fluid supply line, use a cocktail straw to blow into the whistle hole. I looked at Alex M’s post on the insides of the engine looks like there is only one smoke unit in this engine a tube carries the smoke to the whistle. I’ve watched several videos of the tank engine all show plenty of smoke from the whistle.
This what my club member wrote as he tested engine for me. I had surgery so I cannot do much.
"Basically, the steam generator powers both the stack, and the whistle. The fan for some reason on the whistle, does not engage not even as close as it should."
That statement doesn't make much sense Don, maybe you can get him to clarify what he was trying to say. If the fan is spinning, there is very little room in that chamber for it not to "engage".
