Great video, thanks and congrats on the loco!
Nice layout and the Big Boy is awesome!
Way to go jojofry!
Beautiful engine and hope you fully enjoy it.
Nice! At first glance when it took off around the first radius I thought it was going to take out the wall!
I have the JLC version and have lots of fun with it.
There some room ! hehehe. about a 1 1/2
Nice!! I can tell you are having fun with it!

Nice layout and video. Mine came this afternoon at 5PM, read all the instruction and re-watched Mike Reagan video getting ready to try it.
This is a monster engine, I really did not know how heavy it would be.

I am tring to figure out why everyone said its 32 inches . I get 34 1/4 to the end of the coupler .

Brent,
I'm happy to hear you read and watched Mike R's video again. Just seems logical to do that, at least to me. I've read the owner's manual several times and watched the video so many times I've ruined Lionel's 'view count'!
I'm still patiently (trying, anyhow..) waiting on mine to arrive.
My wife pointed out the irony tonight-I focus only on UP steam, have over 20 UP steamers, and I'll be the last (according to her) to get my VL BB....I told her I wasn't impressed by her observation
Good things come to those who wait~!
Jo, here's a thread we talked about earlier this year. About halfway down I did a detailed comparison of the original Lionel BB and the JLC BB.
Though not the VL BB, this thread has a lot of useful information. Based off your measurement, the VL BB and JLC sound the same. I'll try to look at my reference books later to get you an accurate 'scale' length.
When I get my VL BB, I'll compare it to the original and the JLC version. I do remember we decided the original BB was in error.
Have a look at the thread, you'll see why.
