I would never have known in a million years that it is only 1 day to York week if it wasn't for CHRIS.

Gee, thanks Chris!
Yes that is a very creative countdown clock. Been counting the days myself. I usually go a few days before checking it so I can see a nice "jump".
Glad I could help, give you one less thing to worry about.
Huh? What'd I miss?
The York countdown is much more fun than the New Years Eve countdown.

.......and you don't have that morning hangover either.
Rub it in! I put in my vacation request for 10/17-18 back in January. Found out this week "it ain't happening". I was just about to call for a motel reservation. Well, maybe next year...... At least I hadn't bought my ticket, yet.

FWIW, 12/23/13 went away too and that is the due date for our first grandchild. Missing York dropped on the priority "aw-shucks" list this year. I hate to admit this, but I'm getting used to giving back vacation days each year.
I just found out I'm probably not going to be able to mooch off my father for the plane ticket up there, currently he just can't find any reason to be in NY the weekend of the show (last time we had family to see there and we drove over from their place). So that'll be coming out of the York shopping budget. Ugh. At least it's still on for me
Sorry to hear about that Gilly! I just put in for vacation and a coworker remarked, "You're planning two month ahead?" Amazing.
Can't wait, really looking forward to it !!!!
Alex
Yes, but you can join at the York Meet itself.
Packed and ready!
Peter

A tad on the low side, my friend. I want you to be at 120/80.

The whole effect is outstanding and sets the bar at quite...a distance.
Just a little more than 2 weeks.
Years ago on this forum the subject of gun shows came up, and the difference between people that attend train shows vs gun shows. Farmer Bill pointed out that the women at train shows had more teeth. Although I have attended both...I agree with him.
still no word on whether scrapple funnel cakes will be available. word?
York week? Is this something I should know about? No wonder...the badges I got are for the gun show at the Cow Palace!
I imagine you already have the car warming up in the driveway, Eddie!
Can't wait even if I can only get there on Saturday due to jury duty

OK, keep rubbing it in! This means 375 days for me....
Gilly
How about the spring show, Gilly. Cut that time in half!
Weather report coming soon.
Eddie it will be rainng train's and money .
Iam sooo readyyyyyyy for the York experience or as I call it Railroad retreat week!!!!
Preliminary weather report for the beginning of York Week (Sun-Mon-Tues) = moderate temps in the 70s and pretty good chance of heavy rain on Monday, October 14.
Weather report coming soon.
On at least one occasion, I've off-loaded in a driving rain, and experienced rain nearly the whole Meet, which somehow seemed (?) to have a positive effect on my experience there as a vendor.
Now, snow would determine a whole different situation, that's for sure, for me at least. Snow is the reason I never requested entry, as a vendor, into the "Big 'E'" show in Massachusetts, later in the winter months. If it snows , I do not drive, and certainly not from NJ to Mass.
