This shows the back side of mother board and sound board.  I ohmed out the lock out switch and it works, but will not lock motor in one direction.DSC01397DSC01398DSC01399DSC01400

This is a blue and yellow ATSF gp 9 that I believe was command upgradable.   Trying to figure out what goes where, the eunit works, starts in neutral, forward, stop, reverse, stop, ,Using a Berkshire more for testing,  I cannot figure the lock out feature,  It has a horn and bell,  If anyone has the diagram or photos of the inside  I would appreciate it very much.  Trying to restore this to operation...I checked Lionel service pages and that was useless,  engine came out in 1998

Thanks,  Marty

If I remember correctly, the set-up in the 6-18573 is unique. One half is old school (the non-modular SignalSounds board) and the other half is newer (the ACDR and modular 104E reverse unit).

I can't help with the 104E/motherboard combination as I don't have one here, and I don't believe a wiring diagram was ever published. But the SignalSounds board wiring is fairly straightforward.

On the three-pin LEOCO connector, the speaker gets wired to pins 1 and 3.

And on the five-pin LEOCO, the serial line -- not needed for the 104E, but required if the unit is upgraded with an R2LC -- is pin 2, ground is pin 4 and center rail is pin 5. See the attached diagram for how this board was used in the Alco PA's of 1997. Unfortunately, nothing else applies on this diagram to your loco.

I hope this helps.
