Does any know if the new legacy base 1L 6-37156 be able to run off DCS like the old TMCC command base 6-12911? When of the retailers I shop at has one and was thinking of picking one up.

I see no reason why not. It's using the same data setup. I would doubt Lionel changed the protocol on the serial port.
I was thinking the same thing but no mention of having the tiu port for the cable to connect the legacy base to the tiu.
It does have a serial port.
Just checked my o gauge mag number 266 and there it was.

it still has to connect to all the other Legacy peripherals.Have fun! I'm thinking about a set for the extra remote.

It works, we tested this. Make sure you have the latest serial cable that works with the Legacy Base as well.
Okay took the plunge, I order my legacy base 1L ( with cable) from modeltrainstuff.com. Opens up a whole new realm of engines to purchase in the future. Problem should get another job to pay for all those new engines maybe?
Mike, if you are going to be buying new Legacy engines you are better off with the complete Legacy system.
