We love camping at Letchworth, and it's always a treat to see a train crossing the bridge over the Upper Falls. John Kucko films around Western NY and captured the 765.

Didn’t realize the train was that long. Thanks for reposting that. It was the last steam engine over that bridge built when US Grant was President. Its since been replaced with arched bridge. Just rode through the park a few days ago. Veterans and their families now get in for no charge.

I got to go over the old bridge with #765 pulling the train. My video shows the view from inside and just how high up it is.
Wow, that is a long train! Loving a good conspiracy theory I was tempted to think, no way, that has to be fake somehow. That is impressive for sure, it seemed to start on the bridge slow, then speed up, then slow down again. Probably going back uphill, if I was the engineer I’d be happy to get to the other side! I’m not sure I could even look out the window on that crossing.

Thanks for sharing this. We absolutely LOVE Letchworth and try to camp there every couple of years for 3-4 days.

Why? It's only 20 cars.

No, the Engineer applied the train brakes (notice all the squealing), thus the train slowed down. Upon releasing the brakes, it began accelerating again.

Ask Rich. I believe he was in the engine if not running it.

That was pretty darn cool. Great video.
