990 Cab 2 control knob encoder

Hello has any one experienced on a cab 2, when you turn the control knob clockwise the speed bar actually goes the opposite direction? I suspect it does it at a certain point always and the encoder could be defective. If so would you have the part number and a place to purchase.

Send the CAB2 back to Lionel, they still have an extended warranty on those and will fix it free.
