"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.

Post your non-O scale stuff here!

A good friend of mine dropped by yesterday and dropped off a little gift, this Backmann On30 Train Set.

I did take it out of the box to look it over, but until I figure out a place, I put it back in for safe keeping.  Given that the size of On30 is supposed to be 1:48, the size of the locomotive and tender was surprising, they're pretty tiny!

You can always lay some dual gauge track, O/On30.  If you shift the center rail of your 3-rail track just 0.073" toward one side you'll get On30 track.  I recall some years ago there was a thread on one of the Forums discussing this topic.  You would likely have to make your own frogs.

Laying my own track sounds like way more work and time than I'm willing to sign up for.

What’s the engine number? I have the OR&W one, but there’s also a Waynie set (Waynesburg and Washington #4, Pennsylvania #9664.) Were there others?

ETA: To simulate either railroad’s track, have a drunken snake crawl around on the layout board and use that for your track pattern. If you do OR&W, be sure to add improbable tunnels on absurdly steep grades. For W&W, you can do slightly more usable grades, but throw in some turns so tight they look like trolley tracks. Narrow gauge railroading wasn’t easy on the crews, but it sure is fun to read about and look at.
