Thank you Don for a great day running trains and taking photos. The Bellevue & Schenectady is a wonderful model railroad, thoroughly entertaining and inspiring!

Looks great, love the lighting. Any hope for more pictures? Thanks.
Don's layout is gorgeous from the articles and videos I've seen so seeing it in person definitely must have been quite the treat! Another example of what makes this forum great.

Most of approach model trains as a hobbie but the Schenectady & Bellvue layout that Don has created is fine art!!! Just Amazing! Thanks for sharing the photos.
So glad you had a great time. I've seen both of your layouts and you both have fantastic layouts. Two master builders.

There's a certain look that he captured about a clustered urban sprawl that is magical.

Glad that green berk has a nice spot next to the transfer table and hope she's running well.

I love the video of Don's layout!!! I wish the staff at OGR would begin to produce some more videos!!! I have watched these videos time and time again.
Love the Crusader motel. We were up that way a few years ago (and every Summer as a kid).
I'm delighted to have found this 2019 thread.
The reason for that is because today, my wife, Shawn, gave me a very special birthday present: she arranged for us to visit Don Klose's wonderful layout at his home in Schenectady, NY.
I first saw Don Klose's layout in the OGR 50th Anniversay DVD set, and raved about it to others including Shawn. All of the layouts on the OGR 50th Anniversary set are outstanding, but I was particularly drawn to Don's layout because of my strong connection to the tri-city area (Albany, Troy and Schenectady, NY) and the Jersey shore.
I attended Albany Law School, married Shawn, who is originally from the Lansingburgh section of Troy, and regularly go with her to visit her family in the Albany area.
On top of that, like Don, my wife and I have gone to the Jersey shore for summer vacations all our lives: Long Beach Island, NJ is where Shawn and I go, and Wildwood, NJ is where Don and his family go.
Don has amazing models on his layout of buildings, structures and places, past and present, in both Schenectady and Wildwood. This morning, Don gave us a grand tour of his layout. What a great time we had.
With Don's permission and encouragement, below are a few photos of Don's layout that I took this morning:
Thanks, again, Don, for so generously sharing your layout with us today.

Beautiful
Although I only live less than 30 minutes from Schenectady, I have never had the opportunity to meet Don or see his railroad, but thoroughly enjoy viewing the fruits of his labor here on the Forum. It looks magnificent.
