Yes plum marmalade does exist,grad ma used to make it often. My dad used to make something that required ripe plums when they came in about July, a quart jar.water and 2 cups of suger. Put the lid on the jar and open it just before Christmas.
He called it "plum dandy" . One cup of it and you wouldn't care if they were runnin trains on Venus . Coarse the next day is a little difficult to get thru.
