I’ve been meaning to post this for a while now but I have been very busy. So back in the spring me and my dad decided to take the plunge into the DCS world and we purchased a TIU and 2 remotes. Without knowing a lot about DCS we began wiring up our conventionally operated layout for DCS operation. We began to run into a lot of signal strength issues. So I began to do a lot of reading past posts on this forum and also posted many questions on this forum some of which got a little crazy. I had made some not so appropriate statements about MTH DCS system which turned out to be false.

If it had not been for the help that the members of this forum and the use of Barry’s book, The DCS O Gauge Companion which was referred to me on this forum also, I would had given up on this project and returned the whole system.

So after following the advice of you guys I am glad to report we were able to get our layout running. We thank you for all of your inputs and encouragements.

Actually I don't know how Barry finds the time to do all of the things that he does to help people.  I mean, he calls people at their homes at times even, as he did with me twice about 6 or 7 years.  One time he spent, easily, one hour on the phone with me walking me thru one test after another.

We sure are lucky that he's that way.

Now, as for gunrunnerjohn his legacy (oops, bad choice of words).....

thanks Barry - walt
