I am looking for wheel sets for my Petersen 50' gondolas that are roller bearing (or at least roll faster than the wheels that I have on them now) that have trucks that will mount easily so I do not have to modify the underframe so they will fit. Please offer any suggestions you might have. Thanks!

I believe that all Petersen cars are made for them by Weaver, and you can buy trucks
from them (and elsewhere - I find them on DaBay).
The cars may be from CMP (Crown Metal Products), but it doesn't matter as CMP uses
Weaver trucks, also. I think that they even "share" tooling.
I'm surprised that anything with Weaver trucks - especially the plastic ones - have trouble
rolling. They usually roll if you sneeze in their direction. It does sound like mis-matched wheel sets.
Anyway, see Weaver's website to start.
I agree with D500 that they are most likely Weaver trucks. Over the years, however, Andy Petersen has done customs runs using Weaver, old Atlas/Roco (also with Weaver trucks), and more recently Atlas-O and MTH. Which specific gondola do you have?
i have used weaver die-cast trucks for replacement ,also i used atlas on a couple ,alot of cutting to try to get the car to sit the right height.=jim
The cars are Petersen Supply CO CSMX Gondolas. I am not sure, but I think this run was back in 2008. Perhaps that accounts for the older style wheels. The more I read some of the replies on here I am starting to think that they might be older style weaver trucks and perhaps the newer weaver roller bearing trucks might work. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated!
