Raaaalph!
Passenger train collector, "I want to take this opportunity to single out Alex for his super work on the various projects he did for us in connection with the renovation project on our railroad. Our new train station is far more than we expected and is a remarkable piece of work. His work on the additions to our refinery were also outstanding. It seems that no project was too big or small for Alex. He made a pair of staircases going from the lower platforms to the elevated tracks as part of the train station complex. Everything he did for us was either ahead of schedule or on time and was made with a high level of craftsmanship."
I just want to know how much money Alex owes you. Don

Pretty funny Don. We haven't decided on a figure yet, depends upon how much new business he gets because of this.
All kidding aside, many of us have gotten to know Alex and we are all better off for this association. He is without a doubt one of the nicest guys we have in this hobby. It is always nice when we can single out someone like Alex. It would also be nice if our O-Gauge world had more of this.
The response to Brian's post is overwhelming, to say the least. I really really appreciate and thank all of you for these wonderful comments. I'm a very lucky guy to belong to this forum and have great friends like all of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Once again thanks to all of you
THERE WILL BE A BIG GET TOGETHER WITH GREAT FOOD AT MY HOME IN AUGUST
I WILL POST THE DATE SOON.
Alex
Hey Alex, how'd your daughter like the Heat game in Philly?? I bet she's enjoying the playoffs!!
I have spoken to Alex a few times over the last few months and have found him to be a really nice guy. He has built train stations for friends of mine and they are beautiful buildings. The smoke unit repairs I have seen him do are impressive too. Alex does have a lot of talent.
However, he has never invited me to his house to see his layout. So now I will now be filing a FRIVILOUS lawsuit to remedy this situation. Alex has no idea of what he is in for If Alex hires me to defend him, I think I can get myself to discontinue to case.
I think I will be adding Alex to the York beer list.

I'll add my vote for Alex' talents.
A few months back he did an MTH grainery up to simulate a millhouse for me, complete with motorized scratchbuilt water wheel. It is beautifully weathered and I love it.
To those of us who are artistically challenged (me for sure!), his work is truly amazing.
Kudos to Alex.

Hi Everyone, it's Dina. Alex went to the store so I decided sneak on and post something about him too. First, thank you all for the great comments about my husband. He truly is an amazing man, wonderful husband and father, great friend and a true craftsman. He is truly talented and there really is nothing that he can't do. He always amazes me. He is a genuine person who really loves this hobby and loves to help people. Having friends like you and all these posts mean more to him than you will ever know, so thank you all for making his weekend. As for his get together in August, all are welcome. I guess I will be cooking up a storm, lol. Looking forward to seeing everyone again and meeting the folks I haven't met yet.
Alex, I love you babe Sorry about sneaking on and posting this lol
Get together in August?
Dina is cooking?
Hmmmmmmm
Sounds like a plan !!!!!

I can't wait, my fingers are itching to carve out the date on my appointment calender!
I've never met Alex but I draw constant inspiration from the quality of his work.
Hello everyone, Once again thanks to all of you guys and my wife.
We're thinking of August 3rd for this huge get together. Remember, not only will there be great food and drinks, we have a real railroad 100 feet behind our home,
that's very visible, lol. There's room for everyone. We're Italian and our family is huge, so no problem to fit everyone. I will also send personal emails to all ( I hope I don't forget anyone). Send me a personal email RSVP and remember that your significant other is also invited.
REMEMBER DON'T MISS DINA'S AWESOME COOKING !!!!!
Thanks, Alex
Thanks, Alex
YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS DINA'S COOKING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was going to say " The applicant is a bum" but I think everybody except Alex and Mike would take that wrong. Alex is a great guy. All those Staten Islanders are.
I have to agree with both sentiments. Alex is a fine man and all us SI'ers are too!

Alex,
Be careful what you're promising!! I've seen these guys eat at York. Your table, deck, stairs and sidewalk might not be big enough to hold all the food necessary!!
I have to agree with all the above comments regarding Alex. He is a genuine person which is rare now days.
Here, here!
Well all I can say is that it sure is a good thing that Alex is married and that this thread came up now and not a few months ago otherwise we might have an Italian Pope named Alex !!!!!!!
Only kidding of course. Ditto all the previous comments.

I want to add my few words of praise for Alex. He cheerfully resmokified my N&W Warhorse J, converting an almost nonfunctioning puffer to a fan driven smoker. He was patient (with me) and successful (even though it took two tries). Many thanks for a job well done.
Best wishes on the gathering; I'm sorry that I cannot attend.
