I was all excited today. I bought a MTH Ives Black Diamond engine w/ PS2 from an elderly lady today.. selling some of her husband's collection...The engine hasn't been run.. just displayed.... Put it on the track and....NOTHING. Replaced the battery....NOTHING. The engine cant be added to my DCS and there's no "click" noise when you first apply power to the track

First thing I would do is replace the battery.

Does it have a 2 rail to 3 rail button on it if it is on 2 rail it will not work and that it is on dcs to .

Make sure the tether is plugged in.

If you had no DCS signal the engine would have started in conventional.

Try turning the signal off and see if it starts in conventional.

No tether in this bad boy. I tried running it in conventional only. No luck. It just sits there.

Make sure the board is seated tightly. Make sure power is going to the board.

Have a feeling it is something very minor.
