I was running with the independent hirailers and we had allot of fun. Hope you guys stopped by. The show was really crowded on Saturday especially when I was walking around looking for ways to spend my money, it was jammed. Sunday was also a good day not quite as jammed but a good crowd. A very good show with lots of deals at least for me. Picked up 2 powered premier CSX dash 8's from Sean and a rebuilt ZW from the transformer man Harry Lutz. All in all a great weekend with a great bunch of guys.
Our electricity was finally restored at 5:00 pm on Saturday and I had a lot of clean-up still to do. My son and I were able to escape to PA Sunday. Great running into Chuck over by the OGR booth. Crowd really thinned out around 1:00. Picked up some Trainshelves and a NS coil car from Sean.
The Farmers Market at Allentown has these things called Cheesesteak Pretzels I think it is the best thing I have eaten in my life I was buying one of these babies when the group shot was taken.
Sheesh! I asked about the group picture and then missed it anyway! I was having so much fun shopping and chatting with people I never took time to check my watch.
Had a great time at the breakfast and got to the show shortly after 8am, it was so fun I didn't get around to buying anything until early afternoon. But now I can double head Legacy PRR K4's!
Sorry I missed you guys, but had doors to sell. See you in the Spring.
I talked with one of the show directors last night. He told me that attendance was actually pretty close to normal. Down just a bit. That's not at all surprising, and actually pretty darned good, considering what the New Jersey, Long Island, and eastern PA area just went through and is still dealing with. He said there was a late surge on Saturday, which lasted well into the afternoon. Sunday was the typical, quieter, gentler Sunday.
Meanwhile, mark your calendars for the Spring Thaw meet: February 23/24, 2013!
