This post is in response to some basic questions that I have been asked about the large Allentown Train "Spring Thaw" Meet which will be held at the Allentown Fair Grounds on Feb 24th and 25th.   So to answer  questions of how large it is: The Allentown Agri-Plex Center is composed of two halls totaling 60,000 sq ft of floor space and 600 tables, all open to the public.  In comparison the York Train meet is larger for TCA members only  but the two halls only open to the public offer less, at 430 tables (Orange 320 and Purple 110)   By these numbers Allentown is the largest open to the public train show in Eastern PA  and it is heavily attended. IMO  It's is a very good train meet to attend, and if they accompany you, the giant Farmers Market across the way provides something for the ladies to do. My wife loves going to the Allentown meet for the market and if I don't come home with many train items, when I meet back with her, we return with a trunk full of fresh food for dinner.  So is the meet worth attending, absolutely!

Roger that Dennis.  I've been going to the Spring Thaw meet at Allentown since 1988.  It has always been worth the trip.  I've made some good postwar purchases there.
