Almost sold my layout this past year. So glad I didn’t. Enjoy these trains to much.  Still a lot of work to do, but it is all enjoyable. I just wish Menards would stop making such cool buildings.

Running what has become my favorite engine. Western Maryland steamer. Bought it from a Forum member.

Happy New Year to all.

You have a very fine layout!  I'm glad ( as you are ) that you did not sell it.  I'm happy for you!

Over the years, at times I have felt that my interest in model trains has peaked and I'm done with it all.  However, the love for the trains always comes back stronger than ever!  There is an ebb and flow with everything in life.

I had a fabulous time yesterday working on scenery, creating vignettes, while watching/listening to Youtube videos of trains.  I did this for many hours yesterday!   All this inspired me to do a midnight run of trains to ring in the new year!!  Fabulous time!  Got to love those trains!

To keep up the interest try doing something differently every week. Try building a structure from scratch, something no one else has. We all have a spot that needs kit bashing for placement. To me, the out of the box drop on the layout and run excitement is short lived. A special project can last for weeks or months. Give it a try. Enjoy.

Ditto what Rob says....and to add, kitbash some cars, locomotives that are basket cases, anything that gives you a sense of accomplishment that keeps the hobby going! ...AWESOME LAYOUT!....I love it....glad you kept it!

You have a very nice layout with beautiful trains, track and buildings. I don't always feel like running my trains but I frequently go downstairs just to admire the two layouts and the trains that I am fortunate to have. Three of the grandkids visited on New Year's Day. We ran a lot of trains together and had a great time. I have sometimes thought of dismantling the larger layout but will keep it as long as I and the kids enjoy it.
