I bet the crew doesn't complain about visibility with this unit !!
In my haste to post, I forgot the text. This is a Lionel RS3 UFO/alien green and black loco to which I have installed two K-Line power trucks and then removed all the electronics to run on 3-rail DC. The body design is something I have been toying with since 1999, a strange variation on a centercab. I installed Kadee couplers and used custom decals made by Rail Graphics. I don't know what the gizmo on the front is, just something that ties into the battery boxes.
I think the gizmo is for opening wormholes for interdimensional runarounds and short frieght runs.
That or it's a temp passenger car's steam heat generator, not much difference I hear
