In an era where you can pre-pay with a credit card, these days you can get a pizza delivered without them thinking it’s a joke being played on them. Heck, when I was being miserable in the field at Yakima WA (high desert) in the Army once, I had several pizzas delivered as were in a position right next to the outer wire of the training area, right alongside a civilian road and adjacent to a farm where we could give an address (I had a government cell phone, in a time before everyone carried one). The delivery guy wasn’t the least bit surprised to find a bunch of filthy soldiers hanging on the fence, waiting for him and I’m sure he’d gone up there before that. I was going to tip him and he asked if we had any MREs (I never understood why some civilians wanted them so bad). I gave him a dozen of them as they weren’t yet counted per person-per day then. I totally made his day and we were shaking our heads as he drove off.
