Congratulations to Evan, Max, and the entire staff of RIA. Alan and the OGR staff has a great history of attracting and plugging in young talent to the hobby media. They brought me on board to help with OGR social media when it was very young and through the help of Evan and his group I believe that area will continue to grow and expand in positive ways.
The reality is that Evan and Max are the future of the hobby. I'm looking forward to seeing their involvement and impact in this hobby in the coming years.
Thanks so much Notch 6! It means a lot to our whole staff. Max and I could not have done it without the help of Garrett Monnin, Jonah Collins, Clayton Cook, Walker Wood, and Adam Zappacosta. It's a team effort, not just two people. Heck, we wouldn't even be around if it wasn't for them!
Derek, You hit the nail on the head!!!!! We see so many times here on this forum, but on every forum, email list, show, or meet old guys ((I am including myself as an old guy; 50+ years in the hobby, considered a senior by the government)) lamenting that the hobby is dying. I have never agreed that the hobby is dying. The hobby as we old guys knew it is perhaps fading a bit. The hobby is changing. New niches are arising every year! Rich and Alan are wise to see that OGR needs to embrace the new niches, as they are the future.
Evan, Max, Garrett, Jonah, Clayton, Walker, Adam, and Derek; you are really on the cutting edge of participating in and promoting the hobby! I really enjoyed talking with Derek and Max at York! For that matter, I really get a kick out of seeing the ideas that young folks come up with! I wish I could come up with new, exciting, workable ideas!
A big thank you to all of you young guns!!!
