For you folks there having a blast anyone hear anything about the state of the LionMaster brand?

They will be made no more according to one Lionel rep.
That's really lame to hear. That means Lionel is just giving up a whole section of the market to MTH. That makes me sad.
That is strange to hear. We had the first RK Challenger and later the Lionmaster Class 'A'.
Both were very nice but the Lionmaster was much better proportioned as a scaled-down locomotive than was the Challenger. There would seem to a large market out there for these?
Not enough profit from the price crazies at brand L!
Thanks for the reply. If true then disappointing.
They announced several months ago the Lionmaster line was dead.
I'm not an accountant but this seems like a bad move, it was the Lionmaster stuff that got me into o guage.
Its hard to tell what direction Lionel is going in, items are made with no rhyme or reason nor standard of features.
I always thought the Lionmaster locos were good sellers.
The class A Sam mentioned was my favorite, wish I still had it.

RickO ..at least you have a nice photo of yours - I think we lost ours. What a terrific locomotive!
We also had a RK Allegheny for awhile that was a nicely proportioned steamer. Did Lionel make any other articulateds?
TMCC Lionmaster bigboy in 2003. 2 runs of Lionmaster legacy bigboys , first one in 2008 without whistle steam, another offered later with whistle steam. Can't find my photo
Several runs of Lionmaster challengers in various roads, most recently there were some legacy offerings .
This one is a NP TMCC version from 2004
An AC-12 offered in 06-07
The only "non- articulated" offering was the J3a offered in 2003 in NYC and Boston Albany road names, also one of my favorites.

Okay I have to ask on a side note, I keep reading on here how people say "such and such is a nice locomotive, and I wish I still had it." Where did it go? Why did you let it go? Do people in this hobby regularly sell off stuff instead of keeping it?
I saw plenty of lionmaster engines for sale in the dealer halls at a reasonable price I thought.
But it is true that Lionel says it is no longer viable to build lionmaster locomotives.
