I remember the computer glitch because I was one of those affected by it. Although my profile says I joined in May of 2001, I actually joined in Sep of 2000.
Some of you may remember that back in the beginning, most of us didnt use our real names or faces for our avatars. The reason im bringing this up is because I used a pic of Adam West as Batman for my avatar. That started because one day someone had posted a thread asking what everyone did for a living. I said that I was a crimefighter super hero, Im Batman. "Im Batman" became my tagline for a while before I switched to "Trainfever, catch it" Anyway as a joke I found an old adult Batman holloween mask on Ebay to wear to the get togethers at the TCA york meetings. I figured no one would recognize my face but they would recognize batmans, I never did wear the mask. So the other day I was going through boxes of old train related items that have been sitting in storage for years and I came across one box with the Batman mask in it, I guess im still Batman after all these years lol

Hey Trainfever, good to see you posting again. Yep I'm still here and still posting, though I tend to come and go as do most of us. But, like the flu I aways come back!
I sometimes think about the original people that have not been around for some time. But to be honest with you I can't really say who was here and when, the names just blend together. It simply comes down to who are the most interesting and fun to read.
Well it's good the talk to you again and I hope we see alot more of your thoughts in the future.
KEEP ON TRACKEN!
Hey Mario, are you still in south Philly? I havent been down there since I stopped painting figures for Artista when he moved the business out of South Philly and moved it to Delaware. Im still stuck up here in the NE.
Yea I'm still on Bigler Street, I can't get the old neighborhood out of my blood. You guessed it, I'm still working on the worlds oldest incomplete layout.
I may not be able to tell people how to get things done, but I can sure say allot about what not to do. That said I'll be done any day now!
Well, I joined on July 7, 2000. Hard to believe its been over 12 years
Never was an original member within the context of your opening post; but, you could say there's a wee bit of originality, to me. I've been drifting through this cyber social house for some time, now.
Haven't been everyone's best friend, here, by any means; but I have been who I am. I've mostly finished a post with Rick(my real first name); but have used a number of different forum names.
Found this site at one of my local libraries, back in the mid 2000's. Back then, I liked reading the main forum and the 2-rail forum. Later, I found CTT; I didn't perceive it to be in the same league as OGR; but, a good place to start...
Didn't take me long to get booted off that site(CTT); I've been known to speak my mind on occasion; and sometimes, that seems to ruffle a few feathers.
Anyway, I've been around, some.

Hi Ben, let's see August 1956, himmmm you must of been working with Al Gore on the early internet. I guess you where about two and Al was ten, right?
Jim's number was 53. Myron was 33. It took about a month to break 100 members, about 9 month to get to 1000.

As soon as I popped out I invented the internet not Al Gore

what in blue blazes was I doing up at 3:00, and that is the same time zone as mine?

Mine also says 3am. I don't remember joining at 3am. Too many people are saying 3am for it to be correct. Just my opinion. Maybe when they changed systems at some point the times were changed to what the computer thought was a generic number? Just taking a guess.
Been here since Sept 2000!
It says I joined 5/6/01 at 3:00am
3 AM ????
The things you do in the middle of the night
Thx OGR

Thanks for the clarification. I've never looked at anyone else's profile, only my own.

To be honest, I stopped reading the magazine because one of my LHS closed its doors a couple years ago and thats where I always picked up my copy. Going to get the magazine was my excuse to go to the train store. Ive got boxes of old one sitting on shelves that I havent read yet. Im saving them for when I retire.

I guess I was late joining the party! But it's been a great party.
Hi all,
I, too, joined back in 2000. My member number (remember when we had member numbers?) was 76. I used to post a lot more but a lack of time and the fact that I've still got only a 4 x 8 layout conspire against my posting much nowadays. But I lurk when I get a chance and post if something catches my eye or I can contribute something worthwhile.
Hey, Chris and everyone else who has posted so far, glad to have you all aboard.
The way this forum is going, best is yet to come.
