I have mine and it is the same paint color and dull not shiny like the early ES44s.
Any pictures please?
Looks very nice. Not a fan of the super, super glossy units Lionel produced.
These are not super glossy like the first run. They are the same duller finish as the SD70s.
Only the Heritage units (both UP and NS) were super glossy. This is a much more reasonable finish.

Close...but no cigar (or "moustache"). The nose looks naked with only the rectangular indentation where the headlights should be. Critics of the actual GE ES44AC dislike the empty space, too, on the Norfolk Southern models. When the headlights are in the nose, there is a nicely tapered shape between the number boards. On the other hand, when EMD puts the headlights in the nose, they simply put a flat plate between the number boards. That reminds me of the "stripped down" cars of the past where cheap plastic plugs filled the missing radio, A/C, power window, moon roof, power seat, and other options. The matte finish is welcome. Dealers are still trying to blow out many glossy Legacy models in stock. I only hope Lionel is getting the clues.
Good Day NotInWI,
