Just got my York email from Scott Mann and 3rd rail.  He asked for suggestions for new products for 3rd Rail and Golden Gate Depot.  I would love to see some Stillwell coaches.  Nobody has done these for the masses.  The Erie had over 400 of these cars that were before their time.  The New York Westchester and Boston had just about the whole roster as Stillwells.  The Hudson and MAnhattan also had stillwells.  I am pretty sure the Norfolk and Western had a fleet of them too

This was an early short coach

This is an HO model from Northwest Short Lines

Santa Fe had some for use in Chicago area.

The basic "frame" was used on some of the electric MU units (these have been done in classic 3 rail) but the only O scale commuter coaches that have been done were a brass "kit" a long time ago.

There was an article on these coaches in RMC a long time ago with line drawings and photo's of the trucks and window variations.  There are two main variations with respect to car length and then there are combine versions, variations on trucks (always two axle) and modifications to the vents on the roof.

If they did the 11 window version (72 feet long) with the "modern" window variant I'd definitely be interested. These would be scale and accurate but they would not represent not the bulk of the true car production.  Most were 12 window cars (just under 80 feet long).  80 foot cars are hard to run even on O-72.

Not to hijack Ben's thread, but DL&W Boonton coaches/combines are pretty much my #1 want.  I've scaled back my big purchases, but these would be essential.  I'm guessing that if they were done in O, we'd be looking at brass (i.e 3rd Rail) not plastic (the GGD subsidiary).

The Stillwells -- while not something I'd need -- are a VERY good suggestion.  I'm all for more road specific rolling stock.  I *DO* have an Erie 3rd Rail caboose on reserve, but that will end up as a Wellsville, Addison & Galeton hack when all is done....

Anyway: good luck!
