I purchased two in memory of my father, C.H Bowe TCA 69-2514. He passed in 97.
woojr, That was a very nice thing to do.
The AOL on-line train gang from the late 90's bought at least 2 bricks in memory of 2 AOL'ers who passed on a few years ago. Somehting we can remember them with even though when we go out for our bi-annual York dinner, we always raise the glasses and have a toast in their honor.
Ted, I was reading an old email from one of those AOL'ers the other night and it brought a tear to my eye. That was a nice thing you all did with the bricks.
Eddie, I hope to see you for many more Yorks to come!
Yes, a friend bought me one for Christmas several years ago. Since they sometimes move them around, I always check for it on York trips. I also have one over at the
AACA museum in Herahey.
I never knew they moved the bricks around. My rail has never been moved.
Yup, Eddie, at least they did once, soon after it was first put in. I think it has stayed in
place for seveeral years, now. Mine at first was toward the road, now it is on the side
away from the road. I just today walked through a brick Civil War fort the Union used
Parrott guns to punch holes in...unless that happens, I think our bricks will be there'for a while.
