saw this outside the old rock island station in el reno... thought it was some type of "rocket launcher"... but looks alittle old for that.. dont even know if its rail road related
i had thought caissons were only used for caskits... had to google that one... but the other part thats not in the picture looks the same as one back part.. cassions normally have some type of seat, and are box's for ammunition? couldnt find anything like it in google images
That is a limber the artillery piece was attached to the rear and a long pole extends out the front for attaching horses. Caissons could be attached to it but not normally with the piece in tow.
