Hmmm. I registered a few weeks ago and no badges yet. Hopefully that is a sign that the registrations are pouring in.

My wife and kids mention every few days something about York.  Everyone keeps changing their "need" list.  They listen closely when I mention anything about the layout and then go hunting at York.

My badge arrived today.  I am ready!  Start with MTH dinner Wed evening, B & E Junction Thurs AM, lunch at Coombs, fairgrounds Thurs afternoon, Thurs at Fridays, LUG Nuts breakfast on Friday morning, fairgrounds all day, fairgrounds Sat morning, lunch at Coombs, Catoctin Mt trains Sat pm, back to DC, Sunday - back to Dallas.

The charge is $1.50 more to register online, but once you factor in the cost of stamps, envelopes and the time involved in writing the check, filling out the forms and addressing the envelopes, that cost disappears pretty fast.

If you don't factor in any time, and you buy envelopes in bulk (in bulk, they cost around $0.025 each), the cost of the SASE mail option with two envelopes and two stamps is $0.97 (and this doesn't count the cost of the check itself).  This makes the cost of online registration only $0.53 more than by mail.  To me, that is worth it to save all the hand-writing of checks, forms and envelopes.

Of course you can opt to pick up the badge at York and save one stamp and one envelope, which brings the online option up to roughly $1.01 more than by mail with this option.  Of course then you have the time you spend standing in line, and you still have to hand-write the check, form and one envelope.  Again, that $1.01 is worth it to me to not have to stand in a line, not to mention the hand-writing.

If you actually place a value on your time, the online registration is the hands-down winner.

Time change, I have gone the last 4 years and it's been paper, just different colors., They do have some nice badge holders for $2.00 at the TCA booths in many of the halls and at the registration desk

Andy,

I think you just blew all the time you saved.

I registered online on 8/4 and haven't received mine yet.  If I don't get it on time can I still go to the Bar-B-Que?

Nah, I was on the forum anyway, and I figure it was better-spent time than reading and posting to threads containing complaints about quality/China/prototypical-fidelity or the ongoing debate of boxers vs. briefs...

I would say "yes," as long as the "special guests" that Mike is trying to line up aren't door guards...
